Financial Planning
What is financial planning?
Financial Planning consists of 7 main areas:
- Budgeting and Cash Flow Management
- Taxes
- Financing large purchases and Goals
- Managing your risk
- Investing your money
- Planning for retirement and the transfer of your wealth
- Communication and record keeping
A comprehensive financial plan starts with a budget. We advise our clients to follow the 20 / 60 / 20 rule for budgeting, which means save 20%, your fixed expenses are 60%, and your last 20% is your spending money. Then we focus on emergency savings, the proper amount of life insurance, disability and long term care. Once the risk management is out of the way we look at debt paydown through an accelerated debt paydown schedule, or what is often referred to as a debt snowball. We then focus on retirement planning, asking what is the retirement you want? From there we focus on goal management, asking what is important to you? Lastly once your plan is completed everything is aggregated into a digital dashboard where you can track everything in one place!
It amazes us that people spend days and days reading do it yourself books or doing a small group at their church to take control of their finances. We have all of the tools built out to make this very simple for you and complete your financial plan in two hours. One hour to get to know you and another hour to review your plan.
